The Istitut Jantung Negara (National Heart Institute) is one of Malaysia’s leading cardiology centers, established in 1992. Every year, it receives over 1,600,000 outpatients — both adults and children — from around the world, including Russia and Kazakhstan. Patients are treated by 67 specialists, including graduates from the country’s prestigious universities, professors, and medical doctors who are authors of scientific publications.
Annually, they perform:

over 11,000 closed-heart surgeries and 31,000 open-heart surgeries;

more than 100,000 various invasive cardiology procedures.
To accommodate such a patient flow, the Institute is equipped with:

an inpatient facility with 461 beds,

9 operating rooms (including one hybrid operating room for high-tech cardiac and vascular surgeries),

6 laboratories,

6 renal dialysis rooms,

6 intensive care units.
The Institute has received international JCI accreditation — the commission assessing the quality of medical services in clinics across Europe, America, and Asia. In addition, the list of awards and certifications includes:
- ISO accreditation,
- an award from the Malaysian Society “Quality in Medicine” under the Ministry of Health,
- an award from the College of Anesthesiology of Australia and New Zealand,
- the International Health and Travel Award — Jantung Negara was recognized as the best medical center in cardiology in 2016 and 2017,
- an award from the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur in the field of tourism.
Services for international patients include coordinator and translator services, airport pick-up, and assistance with accommodation.
