KUIMS is an abbreviation of Kyunghee University International Medical Service.
The multidisciplinary KUIMS center was founded in 1965 with the goal of providing high—quality medical care and training a new generation of doctors. Its special feature is the integration of Eastern and Western medicine, as well as a strong focus on working with international patients.
In 2016 and 2017, KUIMS received the prestigious Medical Korea Global Healthcare Award. Other achievements include:
an award for the promoting medical services international patients (2010);
the Korea PR Award for maintaining international relations and Medical Korea Award for applying integrative medicine in the treatment of foreign patients (2012);
an award for achievements in marketing and Medical Korea Global Healthcare Award for developing new medical service market (2013);
commendation from the Prime Minister for enhancing trust in Korean medicine.
14,000 people from abroad turn to KUIMS every year, and 20% of them come from Russia. For their convenience, the center has developed a system that allows international patients to undergo diagnostics and treatment on a priority basis. It includes several stages:
Smart Care — appointment booking by phone;
Smart Check Up — personal diagnostics packages, individually tailored for each patient;
Fast Track — accelerated access to required procedures;
Smart After-Care — remote consultations with doctors after discharge, if necessary, and additional examinations in partner clinics if needed.
The KUIMS International Center has over 20 coordinators who make the stay of patients here as comfortable as possible. They arrange airport transfers, help book rooms in nearby hotels and assist with navigating in Korea.
The inpatient facility has 800 beds in various room categories: VIP, standard single rooms, multi—bed rooms for 2-5 people. The cost of accommodation ranges from $ 60-350 per day, and in the intensive care unit — $ 220 per day.
The center's strongest specialties include urology, oncology, diagnostics, gynecology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, and orthopedics — the latter headed by the center's medical director.
