Daegu Catholic University Medical Center was founded in 1980. Today, it is one of the largest medical centers in the city and includes:
-
849 inpatient beds;
-
37 departments, including units adapted for high-technology surgeries, organ transplantation, and intensive care for both adults and children;
-
a campus area of more than 11,000 square meters, which, in addition to hospital buildings, includes several cafés, a hair salon, and a bank.
One of the center’s key strengths is its advanced medical equipment. It was the first in Korea to begin using the Discovery IQ PET-CT system. The center also utilizes the Signa Architect 3.0 MRI scanner, which produces exceptionally clear, artifact-free images, and the Discovery RT CT scanner, which enables diagnostic examinations with minimal radiation exposure. This modern, precise, and safe equipment has allowed Daegu Catholic University Medical Center to achieve significant success in the following fields:
-
oncology;
-
transplantology;
-
vascular surgery and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases;
-
rheumatology and orthopedics.
Over the years, the medical center has received multiple awards in professional competitions and from the Government of South Korea. The Ministry of Health has awarded the center the highest rating for the quality of medical services.
