Wuppertal Clinic is the city’s largest diagnostic and treatment facility, focused on providing medical care to both adults and children across various specialties. The hospital’s inpatient department can accommodate up to 1,000 patients simultaneously. The institution includes 26 specialized and interdisciplinary departments, 8 institutes, its own laboratory and research facilities, and emergency care units. In 2015, the hospital was included in the list of the best clinics according to the authoritative German publication FOCUS.
More than 2,500 employees work at Wuppertal Clinic, including 560 physicians of the highest qualification categories, doctors of medical sciences, and university professors. Fourteen of them head university departments. Among the “star” specialists are vascular surgeon Kuzenak, mammologist Medling, and cardiac surgeon Fetter. The achievements and merits of these physicians are widely recognized beyond Germany.
The hospital is renowned for its excellent equipment, including the most advanced computer and robotic systems, devices for radioisotope scanning of organs and tissues, high-field tomographs, radiosurgical knives, cyber and gamma knives, systems for intraperitoneal chemotherapy and chemoembolization of tumors, and other innovative equipment. Each year, the government invests substantial funds in the clinic’s development.
High-quality medical services are complemented by comfortable leisure and accommodation services. Patients are housed in well-appointed rooms with furniture, appliances, and facilities for individuals with disabilities. Upon request, three meals a day are provided in accordance with the treating physician’s recommendations.
