The Medical Center at Konkuk University was founded in 1931 and relocated in 2005 to a new, modern building. Today, it includes:
- 15 centers specializing in the treatment of cancers of various organs, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, shoulder, and elbow joint diseases, as well as diagnostics and rehabilitation;
- 33 departments;
- An 800-bed inpatient facility;
- 450 doctors and 800 nurses on staff.
The medical center treats nearly 800,000 outpatients and more than 250,000 inpatients annually. A significant proportion of patients are foreigners, whose comfort is ensured by the International Center. Coordinators accompany patients during doctor visits and examinations, provide consultations on daily life issues — communication, transportation, currency exchange, and payments. The International Center operates on a One Stop Service principle: during the first visit, a patient receives all necessary referrals for examinations, consultations, and procedures and can begin them immediately.
Konkuk has received prestigious government awards and has repeatedly ranked first in national evaluations:
- In 2017, the Ministry of Health granted it the status of a top-tier multidisciplinary clinic;
- It received the certificate of a health-promoting clinic from the World Health Organization;
- The main prizes in the Medical Korea competition were awarded to the Breast Cancer Center, Gastroenterology Center, Colorectal Cancer Center, Diagnostic Center, and the Shoulder and Elbow Joint Center.
