Soroka Medical Center is an innovative multidisciplinary institution offering a full range of diagnostic, treatment, and preventive services for organic and systemic conditions. In 1948, a military hospital operated on the site of the current center, and 12 years later a civilian hospital was opened there as well.

Today, Soroka Medical Center houses departments specializing in the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, central nervous system disorders, and many other specialized and interdisciplinary fields. The center features high-tech operating rooms, intensive care and resuscitation units, and emergency departments. A maternity hospital operates within the center, including departments of perinatal diagnostics, obstetric pathology, reproductive medicine, and neonatology. IVF, ICSI, IMSI, and other assisted reproductive technology protocols are performed here. The obstetrics and gynecology department is recognized as the best in Israel.

In 2015, the institution was certified by the rigorous North American Joint Commission International (JCI) and became the first medical center in the country to receive an “excellent” rating.

Among the most in-demand procedures are:

  • Comprehensive treatment of oncological diseases (conservative and surgical)

  • Artificial heart transplantation

  • Correction of congenital and acquired heart defects

  • Treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors using stereotactic radiosurgery (CyberKnife)

  • Robot-assisted minimally invasive surgeries

  • Diagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopy

  • Joint arthroplasty and endoprosthetics

  • In vitro fertilization (IVF)

As in any advanced clinic, professional rehabilitation programs are available to help patients recover effectively after treatment and prevent complications. Rehabilitation can be completed on-site or, if necessary, patients may receive detailed recommendations for continuation upon returning home.
