Barzilai Medical Center is a multidisciplinary hospital complex in Ashkelon that has been operating since 1961. It includes a large outpatient and polyclinic department, where physicians of various specialized and interdisciplinary fields provide consultations. The hospital has 10 operating theaters, including hybrid operating rooms that allow surgical procedures to be performed simultaneously with diagnostic interventions, including in emergency settings. The inpatient facility is designed to accommodate up to 500 patients at a time.
The high-tech equipment of Barzilai Medical Center enables rapid and accurate differentiation of somatic pathologies, including latent and early-stage conditions.

The hospital’s professional staff includes 1,500 employees, among them 240 physicians of the highest qualification categories. The team comprises numerous candidates and doctors of medical sciences, as well as university professors. The center works closely with Ben-Gurion University and serves as its academic and clinical base, hosting advanced training programs for Israeli orthopedic surgeons and general surgeons.
The inpatient facility is planned to be expanded by an additional 400 beds. Currently, patients are accommodated in single-, double-, and triple-occupancy rooms furnished and equipped with modern home-like amenities. The hospital is fully accessible for people with disabilities. Meals may be taken either within the clinic or outside it; when provided by the hospital, a high-quality three-meal-a-day menu is selected in accordance with the attending physician’s recommendations.
