Pusan National Hospital is a public medical center that began operating in 1956 as part of Pusan National University.

Key achievements:

• 2012 — recognized as the most efficient medical institution for the treatment of strokes and was awarded by the Minister of Health as the best oncology center;
• 2013 — performed the first successful pancreas transplant in Pusan and began using the 4th-generation Da Vinci robotic system;
• 2016 — received top marks for successful treatment of colorectal, breast, lung and stomach cancers, treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis and coronary artery bypass grafting.

These results are largely thanks to the hospital's advanced technology, including: PET-CT and PET-MRI for oncology diagnostics, a Gamma Knife, a device for tomotherapy and the SmartBeam radiosurgical system. A fully automated laboratory system analyzes biological fluids according to 2,000 criteria.
