Department cardiology

Doctors of the Cardiology Center of the clinic specialize in the treatment of coronary heart disease and prevention of myocardial infarction. They combine medical therapy and minimally invasive percutaneous operations, and if necessary, they perform coronary artery bypass grafting.

Stenting is prescribed for most patients. Through one of the large vessels, the doctor inserts a balloon with a stent and, under the control of X-rays, leads it to the narrowed artery. The stent then expands, opening the lumen of the artery and thereby restoring blood flow. The operation is fast and easily tolerated by patients. If the damage to blood vessels and tissues is too severe or angiography reveals several constrictions, surgeons perform coronary artery bypass grafting.
