The Dr. Rinecker Proton Therapy Center was founded in Munich in 2009 as the first and only institution in Europe dedicated to the application of nuclear medicine principles in the treatment of oncological diseases. Today, it represents a powerful clinical and research base whose specialists have been successfully combating malignant tumors of various localizations for more than 10 years, including dangerous and aggressive brain tumors such as glioblastomas.

The technical equipment of the Dr. Rinecker Proton Therapy Center is advanced and state-of-the-art. The center is equipped with:

  • Linear accelerators for radiation therapy (with and without IMRT)

  • High-field MRI scanners with power ranging from 1.5 to 3 Tesla

  • CT scanners with 156- and 258-slice capability

  • Equipment for stereotactic radiosurgery (Gamma Knife, CyberKnife, and NanoKnife)

  • Endoscopes with enhanced optics

  • Computerized angiography systems

  • Multidetector systems for SCT and MSCT

  • PET and NMR devices

  • Ultrasound equipment with 3D and 4D visualization

Thanks to its strong technical and clinical foundation, the clinic’s physicians are able to quickly detect tumors at early stages and initiate effective treatment using individualized protocols. Most patients who have undergone therapy at the center have achieved remission with minimal risk to their overall health.

In addition to diagnostic, therapeutic, and research departments, the clinic has its own guesthouse with single and double rooms for the comfortable stay of inpatients. Treatment may also be provided on an outpatient basis, allowing patients to reside off-site in apartments or hotels.
