Hannover Medical School is a major diagnostic and treatment complex founded in 1965. The state invests substantial resources in its development; in 2011 alone, the hospital received over €140 million for scientific and practical advancement. In 2008, it was recognized as the best university hospital in the country.

The hospital’s structure includes 38 specialized and interdisciplinary departments, institutes, research divisions, laboratories, and technical facilities. Each year, more than 200,000 patients receive inpatient and outpatient care. The hospital can accommodate up to 1,400 patients simultaneously. The outpatient complex offers consultations in 90 medical specialties. Most physicians on staff are recipients of prestigious awards and honors, Doctors and Professors of Medical Sciences, academicians, innovative scientists, and top-level specialists.

The hospital’s technical equipment meets the latest standards. Thanks to substantial investment, it can procure and utilize high-quality equipment for diverse medical purposes. A particular point of pride is the hybrid cardiac surgery suite, where complex heart and vascular procedures are performed on patients ranging from infants to the elderly. The hospital also excels in anticancer therapy, actively implementing experimental and advanced cancer treatment methods.

The institution provides the full spectrum of medical services—from hospitalization to rehabilitation. Recovery procedures are conducted under close medical supervision, helping to consolidate therapeutic results, prevent relapse, and avoid complications.
