Yeungnam University Medical Center

Yeungnam University Medical Center was founded in 1983 and is one of the largest medical centers in the city. It operates 26 departments and 13 specialized centers, with an inpatient capacity of 930 beds and a staff of over 2,000 employees.

The center has gained recognition in the following areas:

• Neurosurgery and neurorehabilitation — in particular, assisting patients who have suffered a stroke has become one of the main focus areas;

• Oncology — Yeungnam applies a comprehensive approach and modern treatment methods, including hormone therapy;

• General surgery — the use of the latest-generation Da Vinci Si surgical robot allows operations with minimal blood loss and often without transfusions;

• Pulmonology and allergology — the Korean Ministry of Health designated Yeungnam as a specialized center for respiratory disease treatment.

International patients are served by the International Department, which handles all organizational aspects:

• processing patient inquiries and obtaining a professor’s opinion prior to hospitalization, providing an overview of the proposed examination and treatment plan;

• arranging hospitalization or selecting a nearby hotel;

• scheduling appointments with physicians;

• translation services during and after treatment, preparation of medical documentation and physician reports.

The center’s campus includes shops, a pharmacy, cafes, and a bank, providing all necessary conveniences for patients during hospitalization.
