How do I travel to Korea for treatment during Covid-19?

People have not stopped suffering from diseases other than Covid-19, and it has become even more difficult to get treatment in Russia, again due to the priority of coronavirus infection.

Therefore, the need to get to Korea for treatment has remained and even increased, but now there are some points that need to be considered before you go on a trip.:

Obtaining a visa

You need to prepare a list of documents for a visa (read what documents and the procedure for applying for a visa on our website), important documents in the list of documents are documents from the clinic that is ready to accept you for treatment. Now, in fact, the clinic is the guarantor of your arrival, so you need to ask in advance if the clinic is ready to provide all the necessary documents.

The visa is prepared for 14 days. Basically, a visa is issued to those who have previously been treated in Korea, and it is also possible to issue primary visas in cases where treatment is urgently needed!

Mandatory quarantine

It is now possible to get to the clinic for treatment only if you complete a 14-day quarantine upon arrival in the country.

All foreigners entering the country are quarantined in specially designated hotels.

These are regular hotels (some of them 5*) located near the airport.

Patients are accommodated in standard rooms, with 3 meals a day, from which you cannot leave until the quarantine is over.

The Koreans are doing everything to make it comfortable for you to go through this quarantine. The cost of quarantine is from 80 to 160 US dollars per day per person with meals, the price depends on the hotel to which you will be allocated upon arrival.

Now some clinics are offering special promotions- discounts on the full or part of the cost of quarantine, so that the financial costs of patients are not so high. Find out about current promotions from our managers.

Flight:

Flights are possible from several cities in Russia and Kazakhstan, but with some restrictions.

For example, there are S7 flights from Vladivostok to Seoul, but as of January 2021, these flights do not take patients to Korea, and patients have to look for other options.

All passengers are allowed to fly only if they have a negative PCR test. The test must be performed no earlier than 72 hours before departure at medical facilities designated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.  The test result must be on a paper form in Korean or English. If the test results are provided in Russian, then an additional certified translation into Korean or English. The passenger's last name, first name, date of birth and passport number, as well as the date and time of the tests must be indicated on the test results form. The full list of medical institutions is published on the consulate's website.

Passengers are allowed into the baggage claim area only after passing through passport control and COVID-19 quarantine control. Passengers are not allowed to make contact or communicate with other people outside the airport gates. After passport and quarantine control, you will need to go to the last checkpoint.

At this last stage of the screening, foreign patients must be tested for COVID-19. It takes less than 5 minutes, but the results can take several hours. After passing the test, the airport staff instructs visitors about transfers that will take them to a special facility to stay during quarantine.

If the test you took on arrival turned out to be positive, then depending on your condition you will be sent either to a hotel (if there are no symptoms) or to a specialized clinic.

How we accompany our patients during quarantine:

We will try our best to take care of you during the COVID-19 quarantine period. Our medical coordinators will help you and your family access all the necessary delivery services and needs. We will be in touch with you by phone and all possible means of communication. We understand that it is not easy to travel abroad in today's circumstances. Especially for those who are looking for treatment abroad. However, Korea is not giving any concessions yet, and we must follow the rules.

However  We will not stop trying and helping all our clients who need help and support.  We really hope for an understanding of the situation beyond our control, and if you need to come to South Korea urgently, we are ready to help you!
