How to get a medical visa to Korea in 2021

Since 2020, Korea has abolished visa-free entry with some countries, so now citizens of Russia and Kazakhstan, who previously could freely enter Korea, are faced with the issue of obtaining visas.

Who can get a medical visa:
Of course, those whose purpose of the trip is medical treatment in Korea. But not everything is so simple, consulates issue visas only to those who have previously been treated and / or if the case requires urgent departure. So far, no visas have been issued for check-up and beauty trips. Everything is at the discretion of the consul. We discuss each case individually and make a decision on applying for a visa, we know who has already been given which visas and whether it is worth trying.

Where can I get a visa:
There are 4 consulates:
- -Vladivostok
- -Irkutsk
- -Moscow
- -Saint Petersburg
Each consulate has its own territory attached, which means that if you live, for example, in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), then the consul from Vladivostok will not be able to accept your documents and you need to contact the Irkutsk consulate.
List of documents for the visa:
The list depends on the consulate and can be either more or less (depends on the specific city where the documents are submitted), here we give a complete list of what may be needed, but we repeat, it is necessary to clarify the list immediately before submitting:
- 1) Application-a questionnaire filled out in English or Korean (get the application form from the consular department of the Consulate General, or download it from the Consulate General's website).
- 2) 1 photo is in color, on a 3.5 x 4.5 white background (must have been taken recently).
- 3) Passport and a copy of 1 page of the passport.
- 4) Invitation from a Korean medical institution
- 5) A letter of guarantee from the clinic ready to accept treatment.
- 6) A copy of the certificate of registration of the medical institution.
- 7) A copy of the medical institution's license.
- 8) Certificate from the place of work (the company's letterhead must indicate the position, date of employment, salary) / certificate from the place of study / pension certificate / disability certificate.
- 9) Income statement of the applicant 2-personal income tax (for 2019, 2020).
- 10) Certificate from the bank (from the calculation. $70 per day) (there may be an extract from the applicant's personal account, a copy of the savings account.books / ATM statement about the balance request + a copy of the card / certificate of purchase of currency (full name and passport data must be indicated)).
- 11) An itinerary receipt for an electronic round-trip ticket or a ticket reservation with the seal of a travel company or an airline agency.
- 12) A doctor's diagnostic report on the presence/absence of symptoms of coronavirus infection (PCR test performed no later than 72 hours)
- 13) Test results for COVID-19 coronavirus infection.
- 14) Written consent to isolation.
- 15) A health questionnaire.
Deadlines:
The visa is issued — Short-term, issued for a period of no more than ninety (90) days, single-entry.
The time limit for issuing a visa is 14 days (in some cases, the period may be shortened or extended)
Cost:
The visa fee is $50 (in dollars, without change, the bills must be new, without marks and blots). If the person is disabled, there is no visa fee (it is necessary to provide a certificate of disability).
Delivery services range from 1,500 to 3,000 rubles, depending on the region.
Interview
Visa application is possible both with and without the presence of the applicant. An interview is possible.
Refusal to issue a visa:
The consul has the right to refuse to issue a visa. Neither the Consulate General, nor the consul, nor the consular staff are required to state the reason for the visa refusal.
In case of refusal, the documents (except the passport) and the visa fee will not be refunded.
