“Anam” is a hospital affiliated with the prestigious private Korea University, ranked among the top three universities in South Korea. Anam is part of the Korea University Medical Center, which also includes the Guro and Ansan hospitals. The hospital became the second medical institution in South Korea to receive international JCI accreditation.
Over the years, Anam has grown significantly — from a 400-bed hospital to a large medical center:
- 1,000 inpatient beds;
- 36 departments — therapeutic, surgical, and diagnostic;
- 10 specialized centers — oncology, cardiology, robotic surgery, cryosurgery, breast and thyroid disease, clinical trials, digestive organs, transplantation, prevention, and diagnostics;
- Approximately 900,000 outpatient and 300,000 inpatient visits per year.
Anam is equipped with modern medical technology for diagnostics (3.0T MRI, PET-CT) and treatment (latest models of surgical robots and tomotherapy devices). Thanks to advanced equipment and the implementation of new treatment methods in many fields, Anam became the first, for example:
- In the world to perform an oral robotic thyroidectomy;
- In South Korea to reach 3,000 radiofrequency ablations for arrhythmias and 100 robotic gastric cancer surgeries.
Foreign patients are served through the International Medical Center, where coordinators and medical staff speak five languages. They assist with transfers, hotel selection, and provide guidance on daily and financial matters.
