The N. N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology was founded in 1951. From the very beginning, it brought together some of the best cancer specialists in Russia.
The center is a large medical complex covering 40 hectares, comprising five major divisions:

In addition, the center has three branches: in Barnaul, Tatarstan, and Moscow.
The staff of the Blokhin Oncology Center includes academicians of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (RAMS), professors, and doctors of medical sciences (higher doctorate). They conduct ongoing scientific work, developing new diagnostic and treatment methods to help patients suffering from oncological diseases. Every year, they publish hundreds of scientific articles and books.
The center achieved several firsts in Russia:
-
Conducted trachea and lung transplants using a patented technique that prevents organ rejection
-
Implemented a melanoma treatment method involving the introduction of drugs directly into tumor cells without harming surrounding tissues
The center treats both adults and children, including patients in advanced stages of disease. For patients not requiring hospitalization and their relatives, the center has an on-site hotel.
