Exira Gamma Knife is an advanced stereotactic radiosurgery clinic functioning as a clinical training base for the Departments of Ophthalmology and Oncology of the Silesian Medical University. It was among the first in Poland to implement the Gamma Knife system capable of treating multiple types of intracranial tumors, both benign and malignant.
The clinic provides radiological diagnostic and treatment services on both an outpatient and inpatient basis. It utilizes the advanced Gamma Knife Perfexion system, supplied and maintained by one of the world’s leading companies in the treatment of malignant tumors and brain pathologies—Elekta (Sweden). Patients have access to consultations with Poland’s leading neurologists, neurosurgeons, oncologists, and radiologists. Most physicians hold academic degrees and teach at the Silesian Medical University.
The clinic is headed by renowned neurosurgeon Arkadiusz Lech, MD, PhD, working in close collaboration with Professor Sergiusz Nawrocki, Head of the University Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy. The team also includes experienced nurses and medical attendants providing round-the-clock patient care.
Stereotactic radiosurgery is a minimally invasive treatment that does not require prolonged hospitalization. However, international patients may receive inpatient care if needed. The clinic offers comfortable, bright, clean, and fully furnished rooms accommodating 1, 2, or 3 patients. Accommodation with relatives, guardians, or caregivers is also possible.
