Gachon University Gil Hospital was founded in 1958 by gynecologist Lee Gil Yo. Initially, it was a small gynecological clinic, which gradually expanded its services and opened additional departments. Today, there are over 30 departments, and the Gil Medical Center is the official hospital of Gachon University.
There are 5 clinics and 6 specialized medical centers:
- cardiology,
- oncology,
- dentistry,
- gynecology,
- brain health center,
- otolaryngological.
The hospital employs over 2,000 staff members, who annually provide medical care to 400,000 outpatients, 1 million inpatient patients, and 90,000 emergency department visitors. They perform more than 25,000 surgeries and approximately 900 births per year.
