Founded in 1969 in the Spanish city of Vigo, Povisa initially served as a scientific and clinical base for leading physicians. By 1973, it had evolved into a full-scale medical complex. Surgery remains the hospital’s core specialty, with nearly all procedures performed using minimally invasive and microsurgical techniques—reducing typical surgical risks and long-term complications. Povisa is accredited by leading European and international healthcare quality commissions, including ISO.
