The main Clinical Institute “Humanitas” in Milan is one of five hospitals in the Humanitas network. It was opened in 1996 and became the first medical center in Italy to receive the prestigious international JCI certificate. This certificate is considered the gold standard for evaluating the quality of medical services, patient safety, and the professionalism of doctors.

Approximately 50% of patients at the Milan branch come from other cities and from abroad — they choose the hospital knowing its high standard of care. Humanitas hospital is equipped with innovative diagnostic and treatment equipment:

  • 5 MRI machines;
  • 5 CT scanners;
  • 2 PET-CT scanners;
  • Gamma Knife system for radiosurgery;
  • Da Vinci surgical robot;
  • Stereotactic surgery installation — providing extremely precise surgeries where every step is pre-calculated to avoid damage to surrounding structures;
  • Cyclotron and 5 linear accelerators for radiotherapy, including 2 TrueBEAM and 1 EDGE.

Humanitas is also actively involved in scientific research. Doctors exchange experiences, participate in internships abroad, and invite specialists from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the USA, Japan, and other countries for training. In the modern research laboratory, studies are conducted on the causes and treatment of various diseases, including rare autoimmune disorders.

For foreign patients, the clinic provides interpreters and drivers, national cuisine options in the menu, and a range of other services to ensure patient comfort. Located in the largest and busiest city of northern Italy, Humanitas allows patients and their accompanying person to spend free time exploring Milan and the Lombardy region.
