Medicina Clinic began its operations in 1990 as a private emergency medical service called “Pulse.” Over the years, it has evolved into a major diagnostic and treatment center employing 430 physicians across both core and highly specialized medical fields. Today, the clinic operates an outpatient polyclinic, an inpatient department, a 24/7 emergency care unit, and the Sofia Oncology Center.

Between 2005 and 2007, the hospital was certified under ISO 9001:2000 standards. During the same period, it became the first foreign member of the association “Leading Hospitals of Switzerland.” In 2012, the institution received the award for “Best Private Clinic” at the EFQM Awards 2012 (European Foundation for Quality Management). In 2011, it became the first clinic in Russia to be accredited by the highly stringent international commission JCI, and it successfully renewed this certification in 2014 and 2017. In 2013, the clinic was also recognized by the European certification bodies ISO/IEC 27001:2005 and ISO 27001:2013.
