The German Heart Center Berlin is a specialized diagnostic and treatment institution providing a full spectrum of services in angiology, cardiology, and cardiac surgery. It treats both adults and children. Each year, the hospital performs approximately 3,000 cardiac catheterizations and angiographic procedures, 700 complex surgeries for congenital and acquired heart defects, and around 5,000 stenting procedures. Over the years, more than 2,000 heart and combined heart-lung transplants have been performed here, 48% of them in pediatric patients.
The center regularly carries out procedures for the implantation of defibrillators and pacemakers and also performs artificial heart transplantation using the Jarvik 2000 system. Operating theaters are equipped with Da Vinci robotic systems for minimally invasive surgery, significantly reducing blood loss and procedural risks.
The diagnostic departments are fully equipped for early and accurate detection of cardiovascular diseases. As part of the Charité University Hospital, physicians have access to the most advanced and innovative medical technologies. Specialized cardiology check-up programs are offered. The professional staff consists of senior physicians and professors whose expertise is recognized throughout Europe.
The clinic provides effective, high-level care even for patients who have been deemed untreatable in their home countries. Post-treatment rehabilitation programs help consolidate and prolong therapeutic outcomes. The center’s favorable location, comfortable inpatient facilities, and clean park surroundings support a smooth and effective recovery.
