How to identify cervical cancer
5306

Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers in women. It is characterized by the appearance of malignant neoplasms on the mucous membrane of the cervix. They, in turn, are formed from a precancerous tumor of the cervix. In the absence of timely treatment, such a tumor not only grows rapidly, but is also capable of subsequently metastasizing to other organs.

Invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix
20616

Squamous cell carcinoma of cervical cancer accounts for 80-90% of all cervical cancers. These malignant tumors occur in cells on the outer surface of the organ. This type is also divided into squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix with keratinization (the presence of dead or keratinized cells) and non-keratinizing (cells have a more regular shape, without keratinized areas, and actively divide). If the neoplasm has spread beyond the diseased organ to a neighboring tissue, invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix is diagnosed.

Invasive cervical carcinoma

Carcinoma is one of the most common cancers of the cervix (70% of all cases). Squamous cell carcinomas cover the part of the cervix furthest from the vagina. Adenocarcinoma accounts for the remaining number of diseases (25% of cases). This type of cancer begins in the cells of the mucus-producing gland that lines the cervical canal. In less than 5% of cases, adenoscuminous carcinoma develops – when the tumor contains cells of carcinoma and adenocarcinoma at the same time.

Malignant tumor of the uterus
1413

A malignant tumor of the uterus is a fairly common pathology, which is a neoplasm that develops from the epithelium or walls of the uterus.

This type of disease is quite dangerous and has a fairly widespread distribution. A malignant tumor of the cervix, for example, is extremely common in women over 55 years of age.

Cervical dysplasia
5792

Cervical dysplasia is one of the most common ailments of the female reproductive system. The disease does not cause symptoms, but is classified as potentially dangerous because it can provoke cancer. Modern medicine has the ability to remove atypical cells and prevent negative consequences.

Diagnosis of uterine cancer
11150

Endometrial cancer is most often diagnosed after a woman visits a doctor with characteristic symptoms (swelling, suspicious genital discharge, constant fatigue, high fever). In this case, the specialist conducts a physical examination and examines the medical history, as well as asks about the presence of a hereditary predisposition. At the next stage, more accurate methods of diagnosing cervical cancer are prescribed.

The two-horned uterus
9167

A two–horned uterus is a congenital abnormality of the structure of the uterine walls, in which the cavity of the reproductive organ is divided into two parts, connected in the lower sections. The atypical structure of the uterus is indicated by the absence of menstruation, uterine bleeding and problems with conception. It is worth noting that in some cases, pregnancy and childbirth with a diagnosis of a two-horned uterus are possible, but there is a risk of complications.

Hyperkeratosis of the cervix
101880

Cervical hyperkeratosis is a disease in which the mucous membrane of the cervix thickens and becomes covered with white spots. Depending on the appearance of these changes, hyperkeratosis is divided into several stages.:

  • the initial stage (when the white spots do not differ in relief from the normal epithelium);
  • the second stage (the altered area of the tissue becomes bumpy);
  • the erosive stage (cracks appear on the white mounds).

Prolapse of the uterus
1535

Prolapse of the uterus is a violation of its position, during which the organ descends down to the vagina or exits it completely.

This pathology is most often observed in women over 50 years of age.
