Hokuto Hospital was founded in 1993 in the city of Obihiro, on the island of Hokkaido. It is part of the Hokuto Social Medical Assistance Organization, which also includes:
- the Tokachi Rehabilitation Center
- Aozora, Kamishihoro, and Shintoku clinics
- Ayatori and Kakehashi nursing homes for elderly patients
- the Hokuto Medical Center in Vladivostok
The main mission of the organization is to make high-quality medical care accessible, and Hokuto Hospital fulfills this goal. It attracts international patients thanks to its convenient location — just 20 minutes from the airport (40 minutes by bus) — and its high level of medical services.
The hospital features a diagnostic center equipped with the latest technology. PET-CT, CT, MRI, and mammography are just part of the available equipment. Patients can undergo preventive screenings or receive an accurate diagnosis — with multiple diagnostic programs tailored to specific needs.
Originally focused on neurosurgery, the hospital later expanded its scope. Today it is a multidisciplinary medical center with departments in oncology, ENT, gastroenterology, nephrology, pulmonology, and many others.
Treatment is available on an outpatient or inpatient basis. Inpatients can stay in comfortable rooms that include three meals a day.
