Crown installation
Crown fitting is a procedure that is performed by a dentist to repair a damaged tooth. A crown is a mouth guard that is placed on top of a tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance.
The crown installation process usually involves several steps:
- Tooth Preparation: First, the dentist prepares the damaged tooth by removing the damaged tissue and creating a space to place the crown.
- Impression: An impression of the tooth is then taken to make a crown that exactly matches its shape.
- Temporary crown: While waiting for a permanent crown to be made, the dentist can install a temporary crown to protect the prepared tooth.
- Permanent crown installation: After making a permanent crown in the laboratory, it is installed on the tooth using special cement or glue.
Installing a crown helps restore the functionality and appearance of the tooth, as well as protects it from further damage. It is important to monitor oral hygiene and visit the dentist regularly to maintain healthy teeth and crowns.
