Adenocarcinoma

Adenocarcinoma is a malignant tumor that develops from the glandular epithelium. It can occur in almost any organ: glands (salivary, mammary, thyroid), stomach, intestines, lungs, kidneys, uterus.

Diagnosis of adenocarcinoma abroad

The picture of the disease is nonspecific. These are usually pain, enlarged lymph nodes around the tumor, and impaired function of the affected organ: nausea, vomiting, heaviness in the abdomen, and the appearance of blood in the urine or feces.

In order to detect and begin treatment of adenocarcinoma in time, accurate diagnostics are carried out abroad, which includes:

  • Blood tests are used to determine the general condition of the body and search for cancer markers;
  • x-ray;
  • CT and MRI are more expensive methods than standard imaging methods, they are prescribed to clarify the diagnosis;
  • Biopsy — by taking a part of the tissue for analysis, doctors can understand how malignant the tumor is and which treatment strategy will be most effective. Some hospitals also perform genetic analysis, which allows you to learn more about the neoplasm and choose medications;
  • PET-CT scan is used to search for metastases and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.

Methods of treatment of adenocarcinoma abroad

To avoid recurrence, the tumor must be completely destroyed, leaving no cancer cells in the body. To do this, doctors use the entire arsenal of existing treatment methods.

Non-surgical ones include:

  • chemotherapy;
  • radiation therapy and surgery — the word "surgery" is used because of its high accuracy, but the method itself is non-surgical and consists in targeting the tumor with intense ionizing radiation.;
  • tomotherapy, proton therapy, and intensity—modulated radiation therapy are increasingly modern types of radiation therapy that need to be distinguished separately.;
  • various types of ablation, including cryoablation — probes are inserted into the tumor, which destroy it using low or high temperature, current, radiation;
  • Immunotherapy — doctors use the body's own resources and "program" immune cells to destroy adenocarcinoma tissues.

The peculiarity of all these methods of treating adenocarcinoma abroad is non-invasiveness and reduction of harm to surrounding healthy tissues. The delivery of drugs to the tumor, the precise direction of radiation — all this reduces the systemic effect on the body and the severity of side effects.

The same trend is observed in surgery: doctors use endo- and laparoscopic techniques, and perform robotic-assisted surgeries. Their priority is to maximize the removal of cancer cells with minimal damage to soft tissues. Such operations are safer, less likely to lead to complications, and easier to tolerate for patients who are already weakened by illness and therapy.

The effectiveness of treatment of adecnocarcinoma abroad

The prognosis depends on the stage of the disease, the patient's condition, and the characteristics of the tumor: rapidly growing and metastatic tumors do not respond well to therapy and are prone to recurrence.

Nevertheless, doctors use all modern medical achievements to achieve maximum effect. They can detect metastases of only a few centimeters in diameter, completely destroy the tumor to prevent the recurrence of the disease and reduce side effects.  Clinical trials of new drugs and treatment approaches that will be even safer and more effective are currently underway.

Timely diagnosis is also important: any signs of malaise should be treated carefully.
