St. Peter's Hospital was opened in 1992 and initially specialized in neurosurgery. Over time, its scope has expanded to include:
- spine and joint treatment;
- non-surgical oncology treatment;
- post-stroke rehabilitation;
- stem cell therapy.
The doctors have achieved particular success in spinal disc replacement — they have performed over 4,000 such operations and developed a special prosthesis suitable for Asians. This technology is patented.
St. Peter's Hospital gained fame as the hospital where a former president of Korea received treatment. It's easy to understand why he chose this hospital: the doctors consistently use modern technologies for treatment and diagnosis and conduct their own research. Examples include:
- Cell&Bio laboratory specializes in stem cell therapy for the consequences of strokes, head and spinal injuries, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases;
- Focused ultrasound therapy (HIFU) and the CelsiusTCS hyperthermic system are used to fight cancer of various organs;
- Diagnostic equipment — 3.0 Tesla for MRI with increased load capacity; digital X-ray, which does not require contrast injection; multi-channel CT scanner producing 64 images per rotation.
Foreign patients are accommodated only in comfortable single rooms. During their stay in the hospital, they are supervised by dedicated coordinators.
