Hanyang University Medical Centre opened in 1972. It focuses on conducting scientific research, implementing its own innovations, and training top-level medical professionals.
Achievements:
- Awarded "Best Medical Institution for Medical Tourism" and "The Best Comprehensive Health Check-up Center";
- Performed Korea's first successful organ transplant in 1979 and the first successful cord blood transplant in 2010;
- Recognized as the No. 1 facility clinic for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction and hemodialysis, and providing medical care to victims of crimes;
- The best ambulance service in Korea.
The Hanyang University Medical Centre includes 28 departments and 8 centers, all equipped with advanced equipment:
- Da Vinci robotic systems for minimally invasive surgery,
- Hybrid operating rooms where surgeries are performed under the control of diagnostic technology — CT and 3D angiograph,
- Novalis Tx device for non-surgical removal of tumors using targeted beam of ionizing radiation,
- The "Kulon" neonatal intensive care system.
The International Center was established in 2003 to make treatment at Hanyang accessible to foreign patients. Its staff provide free translation services, assistance with travel arrangements and ticket bookings, and tourist information about local attractions.
