Breast cancer

Breast cancer (BC) is a malignant tumor that develops due to uncontrolled division of breast cells. The main signs are redness of the skin, pain, discharge from the nipples and the formation of a lump. There are also tumors such as sarcoma, metaplastic carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, and angiosarcoma.

In Russia, breast cancer diagnosis often involves a standard approach: removal of the tumor through mastectomy or lumpectomy, followed by radiation and chemotherapy. Although traditional treatment provides positive results for many women, it is not universal and does not lead to improvement in some patients.

Treatment of breast cancer abroad gives more optimistic forecasts. Advanced clinics in Israel, Singapore, Germany, Korea, China, and Turkey have the highest survival rates for this type of cancer. An individual approach to therapy has been practiced abroad for several years through the introduction of new forms of molecular diagnostics. The use of neoadjuvant (before surgery) and intraoperative radiation therapy is increasing to eliminate recurrence after surgery. Women with breast tumors can undergo the latest sentinel lymph node biopsy, which shows how much the tumor has expanded and how much surgery needs to be performed.

New directions of breast cancer treatment abroad

Breast cancer treatment abroad offers the least invasive methods with minimal side effects. In Germany and Israel, women with this diagnosis can undergo innovative robotic mastectomy and immediate breast reconstruction.

Targeted therapy

Based on the fact that not all breast tumors are the same and respond differently to the same treatment, targeted therapy is successfully used in Korea, Israel, Turkey and Singapore. Targeted drugs are not only aimed at killing cancer cells, they disrupt the entire mechanism of tumor formation. These medications are usually prescribed if they test positive for HER2 (a protein in the membranes of tumor cells). In combination with surgery, the new method helps to cope with even the most resistant types of cancer. Prices for breast cancer treatment abroad as part of targeted therapy depend on the individual conditions of the disease and the country.

Recently, clinics in Japan, China, and Korea have put into practice an advanced therapy that can destroy a tumor in just 11 days. Doctors combined two existing cancer drugs, Tyverb and Herceptin, which helped reduce the neoplasm in 90% of women.

Radiation therapy

New radiation therapy methods have become available in Turkey, India and China, which irradiate tumors with impeccable accuracy, concentrating the maximum amount of radiation in cancer cells and minimizing damage to healthy tissues. These include:

  • intensive modulated radiation therapy;
  • brachytherapy (the introduction of radioactive "seeds" into the problem area to destroy cancer cells left after surgery);
  • stereotactic radiosurgery.

The cost of stereotactic breast radiosurgery in China starts from $4,000. Clinics in Korea, Turkey, India and China offer the most affordable prices for breast cancer treatment abroad.
