Causes of alopecia

Pathology can be of different types:

  •  Androgenetic – has a genetic character. The cause of the pathology is the harmful effect of the hormone dehydrotestosterone on the hair follicles. Only in 5-7% of cases, the pathology is primary in the genus.
  • Diffusion – occurs under the influence of various factors, for example, radiation or poisons, medications or an improper diet.
  • Focal – it can be temporary, it appears after injuries, stress, surgeries and acute illnesses. The causes have been little studied.
  • Scarring is formed at the site of cuts, injuries, burns.

Symptoms of alopecia

The androgenetic type of the disease is the most common (up to 90% of cases). The symptoms of this type of alopecia are as follows:

  • In men, hair becomes thinner and falls out in the crown and forehead area.
  • for women, along the parting and away from it.

In other cases, the foci may have any other shape and localization.
