Ilya Pekarsky

Ilya Pekarsky graduated from the Second Moscow Medical Institute, where he chose pediatric orthopedic surgery as his specialization. After that, he entered graduate school in Israel. His education did not end there: he constantly improved his qualifications through internships in France, Greece, Spain, the USA, and Switzerland.

Worked at the Assuta and Ramat Aviv clinics, and in 1999 took the position of head of the spinal surgery department at Meir Hospital.

Honorary member of several professional medical organizations:

  • Israeli Spinal Association;
  • Israeli Association of Orthopedists;
  • European Commission for the Specialization of Spinal Surgeons.

Shimon Rokhkind

1969–1975 – studied at the Ivano-Frankivsk Medical Institute and a two-year internship in the neurosurgery department of the hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk.

1979–1981 – internships in the neurosurgery department of the Rambam Medical Center and at the Sourasky Center in Tel Aviv.

1989–1990 – advanced training in Toronto, in the field of pediatric neurosurgery;

1992 – internship in peripheral nerve surgery at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town;

2003 – advanced training courses in brachial plexus reconstruction at Oguri Daichi Hospital in Japan;

2006 – advanced training courses on endoscopic peripheral nerve surgery at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden.

Shimon Rochkind successfully performs minimally invasive surgeries on the brachial plexus and spine, treats cauda equina syndrome, engages in pediatric spinal surgery, and restoration of impaired brachial plexus functions after injuries.

Professor studies and develops minimally invasive laser techniques for treating peripheral nerve pathologies, and also pays great attention to rehabilitation after spinal and peripheral nerve injuries using bioengineering technologies.

Professor Shimon Rochkind is the author of 60 scientific publications and a member of 23 professional medical societies.

Currently, the doctor heads the peripheral nerve reconstruction department at the Sourasky Center (Ichilov) and maintains a private practice at the Assuta Clinic.
