Hip replacement in clinics South Korea

I was firmly determined to treat my bilateral coxarthrosis (hip joint osteoarthritis) abroad: the statistics for joint replacement in Russia were not encouraging.

I chose Cheongshim International Medical Center. I was attracted by the clinic's high overall level, the surgeons' qualifications, and, not least, the reasonable price.

The experience was fantastic. The center is on the shore of a lake, with an excellent view from the hospital room window. The staff is very attentive: they met and conducted an initial examination despite my late arrival; they prepared movies in Russian. The next morning, I underwent a full examination, and in the afternoon, I had surgery to install a metal-ceramic endoprosthesis. Its warranty is 20 years.

After that, I was under constant supervision by nurses. Korea has an extremely sensible approach to pain relief: small doses of anesthetic are administered continuously for 2 days, and an additional injection can be requested if needed. This greatly contributed to an easy recovery.

I recovered quickly and now feel wonderful. My main advice to everyone going abroad for treatment: bring all your images and doctor's reports, even old ones. It helps the doctors!

I have very warm impressions of everyone who met me in Korea, worked with me, translated, and, of course, treated me. Wonderful, very bright and positive translator Inna Kim, charming nurses, and incredible orthopedic surgeon Jang Woo Suk, who instilled in me confidence in a 100% successful surgery. I also want to note the work of rehabilitation therapist Yu Young Eun—despite her young age, she proved to be a first-class specialist. I felt the care and sincere involvement of all the clinic's specialists!

After installing the most modern model endoprosthesis, I successfully completed the recovery period and returned home to Russia in a wonderful mood.

When I was diagnosed with 'bilateral coxarthrosis of the 4th degree,' I started searching online for treatment methods. That's how I learned about the possibility of endoprosthesis replacement using the Robodoc system and that it is used at Dr. Lee Chun Taek's clinic. Reviews about treatment here were good, so I decided to send my X-rays here, after which I was invited for surgery.

At the airport, I was met by coordinator Zhenya, who accompanied me throughout the entire treatment period. Diagnostics were conducted immediately: MRI, CT, X-ray. Using the images, they created a 3D model of the joint for Robodoc, and the very next day, surgery was scheduled, performed by the chief doctor himself.

In a couple of hours, they installed a prosthesis with a ceramic coating and sent me to rest in the ward. Thanks to the care in the first hours, there was no pain or complications: a nurse checked on me every 15 minutes, they put in an IV with painkillers and a special pneumatic system on my legs to prevent blood clots.

I want to express my gratitude to everyone who helped me on this trip, the coordinator and the doctors.

This year, I contacted this wonderful clinic for the second time. The first was several years ago when the issue of replacing my knee and hip joints became acute: it was already hard to walk due to pain. Back then, I was seen by Dr. Lee Chun Taek himself, and he recommended replacing both joints at once. The surgeries were successful, and I recovered very easily thanks to physiotherapy and a rehabilitation program that the doctors prepared for me.

When it was time to replace the second hip joint, I, without hesitation, went back to Dr. Lee Chun Taek's clinic. Over the years, the clinic has only gotten better and even more friendly to foreign patients. The doctors are attentive, competent, and very professional.
