Cardiology in clinics Spain

Benefits of treatment in Spain

According to WHO statistics, Spain ranks 7th in the list of leading countries in the medical service. Every year, local clinics receive about one million patients from other countries. Most often, citizens of Germany, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, as well as Russia, Ukraine and Belarus receive therapy here. There are more than 800 multidisciplinary and highly specialized clinics in the country. The Spanish accreditation system for medical staff involves long-term training and a number of internships, so practicing doctors are highly competent and professional.

Foreign patients prefer to travel to Spain for treatment for the following purposes:

  • conservative and surgical treatment of primary and metastatic malignant tumors (radical and organ-preserving operations, radiofrequency and laser ablation of secondary foci, poly- and monochemotherapy, targeted treatment, immunotherapy, etc.);
  • bone and cartilage plastic surgery;
  • prosthetics of limbs;
  • preventive and therapeutic procedures of sports medicine;
  • mini- and microinvasive neurosurgical interventions;
  • stereotactic radiosurgery procedures;
  • reproductive medicine and assisted reproductive technologies;
  • rehabilitation programs;
  • bariatric surgery for obesity;
  • aesthetic cosmetology and plastic surgery.

The most popular clinics among foreign patients are the Valle d'Hebron Hospital and the Teknon Medical Center in Barcelona, the University Hospital of Navarre, and the NM Clinic in Madrid. The world-famous San Juan de Deu Pediatric Hospital also operates in Catalonia.

The favorable climatic features of Spain allow patients to better tolerate therapy and recover faster. There are sanatorium-resort facilities in coastal cities where people can undergo physiotherapy procedures for rehabilitation and restorative purposes.

The cost of treatment in Spain

The prices for services in the country's clinics are average European, but lower than in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Scandinavia. An initial appointment with a highly specialized doctor will cost 250-300 euros, while a check-up diagnostic program will cost from 400 to 1400 euros. Prices for surgical procedures start from 4,000-5,000 euros and increase depending on the amount of work and the purpose of the operation. The cost of in vitro fertilization varies between 5000-8000 euros. Many hospitals have special programs that compensate for some of the costs of unsuccessful IVF attempts.

Patient reviews of therapy in Spanish clinics

According to the reviews of people who received help in the country's medical and diagnostic institutions, they were impressed by the caring and careful attitude of the staff, the professionalism of the doctors, attention to changes in the well-being of patients, and comfortable conditions of stay. Most clinics, which are in demand among foreigners, have simultaneous interpreters. Translation into 50 languages is available in the largest medical institutions.
